Boy Scout Troop 309, Sunrise, Florida
Welcome to Our Home Page!
As a troop we do many events and participate in many activities. During these events many great things happen.
A new Scout discovers what was once impossible, is now mastered . The challenge is now a routine. Each small step is the beginning of the next journey towards a milestone in Life. It is these moments in time, that sometimes get captured on film. Small glimpses into the past, that build for the future.
The scope of this site will be to share those unique specs of living, caught forever in a moment in time. And in doing so, others can share in watching young Scouts make discoveries and grow from them.
This will be accomplished with both special event pages, and with photo album pages for you to look at and download.
The other purpose will be to provide a calendar that can be used as a reference to track events and remind you of up-coming activities.
Please feel free to explore the various features as they become available, and let me know if you have any particular needs. Also, let me know if you want any special announcement listed by just clicking the e-mail link at the very bottom of the page. Suggestions and comments are always welcome.
This is our site. We are Troop 309.

04/13- Started building new page for Troop and Patrol positions, looked at using Pro Editor for site, and cleaned files. Removed Seminole page to open space up.
04/07- Posted two pages of pictures and narrative of our great week at Camp Oklawaha in Sebastian. Cleared storage of Crew pictures and uploaded Camp shots. Saved pics for future Time Machine shots. Reviewed calendar.
04/01- Added leader information to Contacts page. Added page to request parents to help us find an affordable cargo trailer. Pictures pending .
03/30- Added pictures of our new camping equipment to homepage, and decide to add a page dedicated as the Time Machine, with older Scouting pictures from earlier years when our boys were younger. Getting better at note wiping out pages before saving changes. Deleted old picture files in order to open up file storage space.
03/29- Added What's New page for current changes and information. Helped SPL put up his SPL Page for general info.
03/25- Found the pictures to the Seminole Indian Reservation outing, and decided to add a page with some of the photos. Will also add a page for the Museum when I get time. Okay, Museum page added and was able to reformat and squeeze in MBC shots. I am really pressing my luck now! Haven't crashed anything today. Thanks
03/24- After adding content to Home page, I tried editing it and lost everything to the black hole on the WWW. Back to square one. Added a page to list Events on a calendar, and started work on Contacts page. Also lost established links for Corkboard, and added Special announcement section.
03/23- Decided to look up old Troop web page and get it updated. Changed home page and loaded Crossover and Camporee photos to new photo album. Created Feature page for Car Wash and placed pictures with titles. Reviewed Scoutmaster photos and added titles. Ran out of storage space but got most pics loaded

Special Announcement !!
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Congratulations and "Welcome" to our new Scouts making up the "Cobra Patrol" and the Thunderbolts". We are glad you chose Troop 309, and we are here to help you grow through the ranks. Please let us know what you need to help you get familiar with your new path in Scouting. You now join our other patrols, the Rams, Barbarians, and the Scorpions, in continuing in the Scouting tradition.
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT !!!- If you looked at the Car Wash pictures, you know by now that the boys in the Troop held a fundraiser, to get more equipment. We knew that with 10-14 new Scouts coming in, we would need it for the two new Patrols. Well, this week we received a truckload of gear and we have added it to our gear for camping at Camp Oklawaha. We now have 5 new Ice Chests, 5 new water coolers, 3 new Camp Stoves, 2 new lanterns, 5 new tents, New Cooking Pots, new utencils, new water jugs, and lots of other items. Now we desperately need a bigger trailer for all our stuff. Know any for sale? Once again, a big Thanks to Mr. Ed, and to all the boys that worked hard selling tickets and washing cars.
Remember: Scouting is a uniform organization, wear your class A to each of our meetings! Meetings are each Wednesday at 7pm. Check the Calendar for locations. See you there!!!!
Special Thanks to ASM Andrew Cohen for stepping up to the plate. A call went out at Merit Badge College for a Fingerprint Trainer, otherwise the course would be cancelled. Mr. Andrew answered the call by dedicating both days to teaching the course and making it a reality. Many Thanks!
Another MBC hero is our own Event Chair Ed Horowitz, for teaching the Music Merit Badge for both days as well. I went and visited his class during the day, and it was so entertaining that I should have had to pay to be there. As always, an excellent class by a super talented leader.
If you attended MBC, check out the new page of pictures just added and relive the experience!
Let me know if anybody wants to see any other pictures. Chances are that I may just have some. Feel free to save any shots into your own computers. Mr. Steve
